My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. Psalm 62:1
Many of you may have been through job loss before and for some of you, this may be the first time. I pray that you all know the Lord and have a relationship with Him. As someone who has been in transition a few times I would like to offer some strategies that have helped me in the past during job loss and transition:
- Remember God’s faithfulness in the past. Heb. 10:23
- Daily seek His face and His guidance. 1 Chron. 16:11
- Ask God for His peace to surround you. Phil. 4:7
- Watch to see how God works as you trust in Him. He will provide, sustain, and strengthen you during this time. Phil. 4:19
- Remember that He is in control although it may look like your life is in a state of turmoil. Psalm 46:1
- Trust Him with your future because He is an all-knowing God. Isaiah 46:10
- Ask God for divine appointments to network and connect with people that will lead you to the right job. Eph. 4:16
- Ask God how He can use you to serve others during this time of transition. Gal. 5:13
- Feast on His Word like never before because that will give you peace and strength. Joshua 1:8
- Take time for exercise and fresh air. Remember, God is working behind the scenes to connect the dots to help you find the right job at the right time. Zechariah 4:6 – So, he said to me, “This the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord Almighty.”
Let me encourage you, God will come through for you and you will find employment again! He is no discerner of persons and even though I went through a time of transition, He proved Himself faithful and now I am working for a company that services individuals in transition as part of their company’s severance package. He remains faithful and will be with you through this time.
