Wheels Ministry Weekly Message 2 - 11/01/21
Christian accountability
At the heart, accountability is one Christian submitting to the Christ-centered admonition of another Christian in one or more areas of life. Hand in hand with accountability is an attitude of grace and forgiveness, and the taking on of one another's burdens (Romans 12:16, Colossians 3:13, Galatians 6:2).
What does the Bible say about the topic of Accountability?
What does the Bible say about accountability? Scripture teaches that we will be held accountable before God and that we are meant as brothers and sisters in Christ to hold each other accountable on earth for our words and actions. Being accountable means being willing to explain your actions with honesty and openness. We will one day stand before God and will be held accountable for how we lived.
We are not meant to live as islands. Each one of us should have friends who can help us make the right decisions and restore when we've made wrong ones. We each have blind spots that we need help seeing. Pride and temptation can keep us from seeing the truth. It is when we rely on others for guidance and wisdom that we find the strength to be holy!Accountability Partners (Example - if part of a group, course, ministry, etc.) In your new relationship, contact your partner via phone, text message, email, and you may even want to meet over a cup of coffee, meet in a public place, etc. It is up to you - how often you meet with your partner, its doesn’t hurt to communicate / meet often between sessions so you are both on the same page :) “Communication is the key to success - not only in your personal lives, but even more important during your time in your group, course, ministry, etc. setting(s)."
