The Prison Pen Pal Ministry's Goal is to love and encourage inmates through correspondence. Focusing on the Lord and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Prisoner's lives can be significantly improved and sometimes even saved for the price of a postage stamp.
Letter writing is a vital part of The Rock Church Prison Ministry involvement. It allows Christians to reach out and share Jesus' love and God's forgiveness. It assist in the process of recidivism and breaking the cycle of crime and substance abuse. Giving individuals attention by way of correspondence with care, love and understanding. With a Christ-like attitude we can give hope to a broken heart and a positive outlook.
Pen Pal Writers (PPW's)
Commitment: Volunteer's commitment in faithfully writing at least once a month can foster a healthy and trusting relationship with the inmate and thus aiding the inmate to build and create trust within their own personal relationships with others.
****** If your loved one is in PRISON and is seeking a pen pal, he/she must write to the address below and request it via snail mail. We DO NOT match opposite genders.
Requirements to be considered to volunteer:
Must be a Christian to reflect the love of Christ
21 years old and older.
Completion of Rock Church Life Membership Class ** Rock Church Members**
Attend quarterly meetings ** Local Writers **
Assist in Lobby Table for Ministry marketing ** Local Writers **
Attendi a Bible Study Group (can be done with your local church).

Process:
Once application has been received and approved, you will receive our Guidelines for writing, the name and address of your pen pal. Your return address is listed below.
Pen Pal letters are picked up at our Post Office Box once a week. We send out weekly email notices to our Pen Pal Team with notifications. Your letter is forward to your home address the next day.
