AHA CPR/AED Training

Everyone needs to be prepared in the event of an emergency or a disaster. The first step is to learn CPR. Join us in a small class setting where you will walk away feeling confident that you can save a life!

The American Red Cross provides life-saving training to thousands of San Diego and Imperial Counties residents each year in numerous topic areas including First Aid/CPR/AED and babysitting. Visit the Take a Class page to find a First Aid/AED/CPR class or other training course near you.

Go to https://www.redcross.org/local/california/san-diego/take-a-class  click on "Select a Class type" then scroll down and click on: whichever First Aid class you are interested in taking; CPR, AED, First Aid, etc. In the new page, Click on the "Sign Me Up " to register for any open CPR/AED class. 

Course Description

Heartsaver First Aid & CPR/AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

Course content:

Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Adult CPR and AED use
  • Optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR

The class is about two hours long and a two year certification card will be issued upon successful completion.
