The Holy Spirit is one person of the triune God, fully God and fully sharing in God’s attributes. His role is to implement God’s plan of salvation by living in us and to conform us into the image of Christ, reminding us of Jesus’ words and actions and guiding us to become more like Him. He baptizes us, gives us access to God’s supernatural power, and gives us each spiritual gifts according to God’s will. Because the Holy Spirit has such an important part to play in our lives as Christ-followers, it is critical that we make ourselves available to hear His still, small voice and be willing to follow.
