When the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:4), they were empowered to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). They were empowered to be generous, sharing everything they had so that there was no one among them in need (Acts 4:32-27). They were empowered to stand firm for their faith and maintain compassion for those who persecuted them, even in the face of death (Acts 7).
And as modern believers, we are still empowered by the Holy Spirit to participate in the mission God has called us to.
