Stonewall Peak Hike

Join the Rock Church Hiking Ministry family as we journey to beautiful Stonewall Peak in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. It's always a fun time as we enjoy the beauty of God's creation!

The 4-mile, moderate+ level hike has mild switchbacks, a set of stairs to the peak, and breathtaking 360 degree views at the top. This is one of the most accessible peaks in San Diego County. Hope to see you there!

Day-use parking fee at Paso Picacho Campground is $10. If you have a library card, check to see if your local library has a California State Parks Parking pass available to borrow. This will save you $10.

Please self-evaluate your fitness level before attempting this hike. We will be hiking to an altitude of over 5,700 feet. You may go at your own pace, however, if you fall behind the group, it is your responsibility to complete the hike.

You must sign the Rock Church waiver form to participate in this hike. Forms will be available at the event.

Meet at the Paso Picacho Day Use Parking area at 7:45 a.m.
Hike starts at 8 a.m.

• Difficulty: Moderate+, one semi-difficult hill, altitude of 5,700+ feet
• Highlight: Beautiful views at the top
• Distance: 4 miles (Round trip)
• Elevation Gain: 840'
• Hiking Time: approximately 3 hours
• Dogs are not allowed
• Weather: Hike will be cancelled for extreme weather
• This hike may be difficult for young children and those not used to the altitude
• Restrooms:  Available at the Paso Picacho Day Use parking area

What to Bring

• $10 parking fee at Paso Picacho Campground
• Good running or hiking shoes
• Sunscreen
• Comfortable clothing, wear layers as it could be windy at the summit 
• Hat or visor
• Hiking Poles (optional, recommended)
• Water (at least 1 liter recommended)
• Snacks
