The Rock Church Hiking Ministry's March hike takes us to Rancho San Diego at the San Diego National Refuge. It will be a fun time of hiking, fellowship and worship while enjoying the beauty of God's creation! This is an ideal hike for those who are moderate-level hikers. We'll meet at 8:45 a.m. and the adventure begins promptly at 9 a.m. Please arrive on time. Hope to see you there!

The trailhead is located just south of the historic Sweetwater River Bridge on SR-94. There is a parking lot at the trailhead on Millar Ranch Road. There are no restroom facilities or water at the trailhead.

This is an easy-moderate hike, with little elevation gain. Please self-evaluate your hiking and fitness levels before attempting this journey.

If there is interest, we can go out to eat afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

•  Difficulty: Easy-moderate with negligible elevation gain
•  Highlight: Historic bridges over the Sweetwater River
•  Distance: 4-5 miles (round trip)
•  Elevation Gain: negligible
•  Hiking Time: approximately 3 hours
•  Dogs: Permitted (on leash) 
•  Weather: Hike may be cancelled if it rains.
•  Restrooms: None

 What to bring?

• Good running or hiking shoes
• Comfortable clothing, bring layers as the temperature will change
• Hat or visor
• Sunscreen
• Hiking Poles (optional)
• Water (at least 1 liter recommended)
• Snacks and electrolytes

Directions:

SR-94 to Rancho San Diego. Turn right onto Campo Road to continue on SR-94. Turn right onto Millar Ranch Road and another right into the dirt parking lot.
