Jesus took our sins, our shame, our grief, and bore it all on the cross.
For the first time in his 33 years of life, He experienced the greatest sorrow: separation from His Heavenly Father. He did this so we could experience closeness with the Father for eternity. Jesus, the victorious soldier, exposed himself to death so that we too, could claim victory alongside Him.
Jesus didn’t wait for us to get our acts together or to make our lives look prettier when He faced death for us. Let’s take more than just a moment to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for us while we were still sinners.
