Water Baptism

As we are dipped under the waters of baptism, we are raised to new life! Leaving our old life behind, we enter into the new life that Jesus freely gives us. Baptism gives us the opportunity to say YES to God in front of others and invite the Holy Spirit to shape our lives.

If you are a follower of Jesus and have yet to be water baptized, this is an important – and powerful – step in your discipleship journey! Jesus encouraged His followers to be Baptized in Matthew 28:19-20, and Christians have continued this expression of their faith for thousands of years.

Importantly, you do not have to be perfect—or feel like you are perfectly walking out your faith—to be baptized! If you have already decided to follow Jesus, baptism is a great next step.

Have you made a decision to allow Christ to be your Lord and Savior? Because baptism is a public display of faith in Jesus rather than an act of salvation, people who participate in baptism must begin by committing their lives to Jesus. Because baptism is not an act of salvation but instead a proclamation of one's faith in Jesus, we ask that people who participate in baptism are old enough to reasonably make a decision for Christ. For children who are not yet old enough to articulate their faith, we encourage child dedications. Child dedication is for parents who want to publicly declare their intention to raise their children to KNOW God, GROW in God, and SHOW God to others.
